Hi, I’m SELEN YALCIN.

I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach certified by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

My journey to becoming a Health Coach started with my relocation to the United States. Little did I know that this would be just the beginning of my personal wellness transformation.

I grew up with a healthy Mediterranean diet in Turkey. However, after moving to the US, I struggled a lot with the unhealthy food culture. For three years, I consumed fast, convenient, processed foods, and felt awful both physically and mentally. Experiencing both ends of the spectrum has shown me the profound impact food has on one's well-being. Struggling to sustain a healthy diet, I decided to take matters into my own hands and began cooking at home. The more I delved into cooking and experimented with diverse foods and recipes, the deeper my curiosity about nutrition grew.

Meanwhile, I studied and worked in fields that I was not passionate about for a long time. I pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering at Bogazici University and later worked in the Marketing field for global corporate companies. However, I didn't feel the passion and fulfillment I desired.

My inner voice kept telling me that I was on the wrong path. So, I decided to ignore what others think, walk my own path, and pursue my passion for helping others live their healthiest and happiest lives.

I am constantly seeking growth and authenticity, and I strive to align my actions with my soul and purpose. I am excited to meet you, hear your story, help you feel your best, and walk alongside you in your personal wellness transformation.

My Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, our home environment, and spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I believe that bio-individuality is the foundation of health and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Together, we will create a simple, but personalized plan that works for you. One that’s empowering, exciting, and will lead to sustainable health and wellness.

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. By eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.
